What's inside a computer?

Monitor

The monitor is responsible for displaying the system input or output information.

The most important parameters of a monitor are viewable image size, pixel size and resolution. Viewable image size is measured diagonally in inches. A monitor picture element (pixel) is the smallest physical unit that can be represented on the screen.

Resolution is measured in“pixels”, which is the smallest graphical information unit that the screen can display.

They are of two types:

· The cathode ray tube (CRT), similar to television sets.
· The liquid crystal display (LCD), which are slim and consume less power and emit less radiation.
